We operate an appointment system at present with daily extra spaces for genuine emergencies and urgent problems.  We would urge anybody needing an appointment to ring at 08:00. 

An appointment with a specific doctor of your choice may entail a delay but the soonest available appointment with any doctor or nurse will always be offered.  We are constantly trying to improve our systems and these arrangements may be changed in the future. 

If you require an urgent “on the day” appointment you will be allocated an appointment with the next available clinician. This will not necessarily be the doctor of your choice.

If you are asked by your doctor to make a follow-up appointment, please do so before you leave the surgery.  Failure to do this means we cannot guarantee you will see the doctor of your choice.

Please telephone High Street Surgery before 11.30 for home visits, except in emergencies.  Home visits take much more time than surgery appointments so please come to the surgery if at all possible. 

All house calls are at the discretion of the doctor.  (The presence of a temperature or a rash should not prevent your coming).  It will not always be your own doctor who visits.  House visits are mainly reserved for housebound patients.  All emergencies are dealt with at the High Street Surgery.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
